American Addiction Centers in Grand Prairie, TX is hiring a Counselor-intern to coordinate case management, provide group therapy, and conduct bio-psychosocial assessments for clients in our facility.

The role involves linkage with referral sources, discharge planning, and ongoing supervision towards CADC certification. Proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook and flexible hours are expected to support a comprehensive care program.

Qualifications

• Studying for Drug & Alcohol counseling certification from an accredited institution.
• 2 years’ experience working in a substance abuse environment.
• Ability to work effectively with people and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, family members, and other staff.
• Knowledge and experiences in running groups, meetings and/or activities.
• Proficient in reading/writing; clear, persuasive communication; ability to present in meetings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide individualized case management.
• Provide group therapy and bio-psychosocial assessment services.
• Support discharge/continuing care planning and client resource placement.
• Maintain communication with referral sources and other service providers.
• Liaise with UR Department on all aspects of client care.
• Attend weekly supervision toward CADC certification.
