Job summary

Texas Treatment Services is seeking a Counselor to provide direct addiction treatment services to adult patients and family members. You will gather data, document problems, and establish treatment plans as part of comprehensive care.

The role includes counseling, group leadership, liaison work for referrals, and strict adherence to confidentiality and regulatory requirements within a compassionate clinical team.

Qualifications

• Degree in counseling or related field, or experience in another field of similar experience, or LCDC or in the process of certification (Intern).
• Must have a valid driver's license or state issued ID.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to patients assigned to caseload.
• Direct training groups and seminars; provide therapeutic leadership in group counseling sessions.
• Function as a liaison with community agencies and law enforcement for referrals and compliance.
• Complete individual chemical dependency assessment including psychosocial forms and signatures.
• Develop and document an Individual Treatment Plan with patient input and clinician verification.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure timely updates and goal documentation.
• Assist with urine drug screens and document results.
• Protect patient confidentiality and manage release of information for referrals.
• Ensure files are secure and DHHS regulations are followed; disable access to unauthorized personnel.
• Participate in CQI monitors, case reviews, and treatment teams.
