Job summary

Interim, Inc. is seeking a Counselor II to provide mental health counseling, case management, and related services to clients across multiple programs, including housing and crisis services.

The role emphasizes relapse prevention skills and supportive services to help clients manage medications and engage in recovery. Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and collaboration with clinicians, supervisors, and community partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• One year of work experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder field.
• Bachelor’s in related field may be substituted for experience.
• Ability to be organized, responsible, flexible, empathic and relate effectively with clients, staff, professionals, and the community.
• Good written and oral English communication skills.
• Valid California driver’s license; auto insurance; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, intake, and discharge processes for clients.
• Assess for suicidality, violence, and substance use; respond to crisis situations.
• Provide client-centered counseling and psychoeducational skills building.
• Develop, write, review and update client-centered treatment plans.
• Oversee client charts and ensure timely documentation for care and reporting.
• Establish and maintain linkage with other agencies and services.
