Alvin ISD seeks a clerical assistant for the counseling department to maintain accurate student records and support staff in daily administrative tasks.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with additional college hours or an associate degree; Texas Education Aide Certificate obtainable through Alvin ISD. One year of clerical experience in education is preferred.
Primary Purpose:
Provide clerical services to the counseling staff. Maintain current and accurate student records.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, plus:
Two years of study at an institution of higher education totaling 48 hours, or
Associates Degree, or
Passing score on the "Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies" exam, to be administered by Alvin ISD
(Note: the above criteria must be met before your application can be considered for this position and if you are selected for an interview, transcripts showing your degree or college hours should be presented at that time)
Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate (obtainable through Alvin ISD when hired)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient word processing and file maintenance skills
Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Use of personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases
Experience:
One year clerical experience in a public education environment preferred
Salary: Adm. Support PG3/ 193 days
