Description
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board. Treat patients according to the physician treatment plan. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff in the facility. Record evaluations, treatment notes, recertification documentation, and progress notes in compliance with Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental/third-party payer requirements. Record treatment changes per policy and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance. Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
