Job summary

Mercy is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join its inpatient Physical Medicine team in Overland, MO. The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program and current licensure eligibility, with BLS certification kept up to date.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and must be current before caring for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessment under direction from O.T.R./L. and according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs and behaviors across neonatal to geriatric age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
