Job summary

Deaconess HomeCare - Selmer is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services to patients in home care settings. You will work under a supervising OT to restore patients to their fullest physical abilities and improve quality of life.

The role requires TN licensure as a COTA, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work autonomously in diverse home environments.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Must be certified and in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy: TN

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care under the supervision of an OT.
• Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the OT assistant and the plan of care.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes to the patient's condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and health-care team members in therapy areas within the OT assistant scope.
• Provide therapy across diverse home environments, respecting age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
