Job summary

Journey is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support the Occupational Therapist (OTR) in delivering high-quality therapy services in a long-term care facility.

You will help residents improve independence and mobility through individualized treatment plans, hands-on interventions, ADL training, and careful progress documentation, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.

Qualifications

• Must have an accredited OTA program degree.
• Current state licensure as a COTA to practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive functioning.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, including exercises, ADL training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Document residents’ progress and communicate updates to the care team for continuity of care.
• Promote a safe, supportive environment and build meaningful resident relationships.
