Job Description
This role is specifically for Costa Cruises. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive sustainable revenue growth for Costa Cruises by implementing innovative, data-driven strategies that expand market presence and strengthen key partner relationships. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities through market analysis, engaging creatively with partners, developing targeted newsletters, delivering training to travel advisors, monitoring key account websites for brand consistency, and optimizing marketing resources to maximize ROI. The BDM will contribute to positioning Costa Cruises as the preferred Mediterranean cruise option in North America.
Key Functions
Business Development (40%)
- Identify and pursue revenue growth opportunities within key accounts
- Develop and implement tailored business plans
- Analyze account performance metrics for strategic decision-making
- Negotiate promotional and positioning opportunities
Travel Advisor Engagement (20%)
- Create and deliver training programs and presentations
- Distribute newsletters with updates and promotions
- Support travel advisors in sales strategies
- Represent Costa Cruises at industry events
Website Monitoring & Optimization (15%)
- Audit key account websites for brand accuracy
- Identify and implement content improvements
- Collaborate on website enhancements
- Monitor digital conversion metrics
Marketing Investment (15%)
- Analyze ROI of marketing initiatives
- Reallocate resources strategically
- Develop co-op marketing with high-performing accounts
- Align marketing spend with revenue goals
Market & Competitive Analysis (10%)
- Monitor industry trends and competitors
- Identify emerging opportunities and threats
- Provide insights for product positioning
- Support strategic planning
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related
- At least 5 years in sales or business development, preferably in travel/cruise industry
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets
- Experience managing key accounts and partnerships
- Success in data-driven initiatives
Technical Skills
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred), MS Office
- Strong analytical skills for performance and ROI tracking
- Knowledge of travel distribution channels and digital marketing
