Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Cost Specialist to join our Project Controls team in Columbus, OH. You’ll own budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and executive reporting for large EPC energy infrastructure projects across North America.

The role emphasizes Earned Value Management, cost visibility, and proactive decision-making. You’ll partner with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance with project

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC, construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis.
• Experience in project-based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred.
• Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze, and control project costs for EPC energy and utility infrastructure projects.
• Monitor budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year projects.
• Develop Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC) for accurate forecasting.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to evaluate performance and variances.
• Identify cost risks, trends, and deviations while escalating issues to Project Managers.
• Support change management activities, including change orders and budget transfers.
• Partner with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance.
• Prepare accurate cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support Project Controls Execution Plans and ensure compliance with processes and standards.
• Utilize JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for tracking and reporting.
• Act as a trusted cost control resource for assigned projects and contribute to continuous improvement.
