Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to support a large-scale data center campus development in Ohio. You will work with project stakeholders from planning through closeout on a multi-year program, applying cost controls, estimates, and value engineering.

The ideal candidate has a degree in construction-related field, 3–5 years in cost management, and familiarity with benchmarking, reporting, and dispute avoidance in a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is valuable.
• Experience in cost management on medium or large projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Advising client on strategies, managing prequalification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents, making final recommendations to the client, attending & chairing bid interviews, and managing appointment process.
• Manage estimating services for full project by developing project estimates (construction, fees, direct work and other costs), reviewing estimations by junior team members, presenting estimates to client, providing value engineering recommendations and risk assessments.
• Manage cost reporting by establishing reporting schedule, reviewing cost reports and forecasts, reviewing project budget & spend forecast with the client, developing and maintaining a commercial risk register.
• Manage cost control by reviewing payment applications, liaising with project managers to recommend entitlements, reviewing change orders, and applying dispute prevention/management procedures.
• Monitor invoicing process.
• Benchmark performance against other commissions.
• Manage final accounting, post contract audits and closeouts.
• Conduct post-contract reviews to create training material and lessons learned.
