Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support construction cost services for a large-scale data center program in Ohio.

This on-site role requires regular presence at the project site in Miami County, about 80 minutes from Columbus, with responsibilities spanning estimating, cost reporting, cost control, and post-contract closeouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale campus developments, mission critical, commercial, industrial, or other major capital projects is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise client on strategies, prequalify vendors, assess bids, and chair bid interviews.
• Develop and review project estimates (construction, fees, direct costs) and present to client.
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts; maintain commercial risk register; host progress meetings.
• Review payment applications, change orders, and contractor entitlements; resolve disputes as needed.
• Manage final accounting, post-contract audits and close-outs; conduct lessons-learned reviews.
• Support cost management activities across planning, procurement, commissioning and closeout.
