Job summary

Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team in the United States. You will maintain accurate costs, analyze BOMs, and support pricing decisions to improve profitability.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting or related field and at least 5 years in manufacturing cost accounting, with strong cost systems and an eye for detail. This on-site role offers competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate system pricing for products, models, and options.
• Analyze product and project costs to identify trends, variances, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Develop and maintain cost estimates for new and existing products, models, options, and projects.
• Compare estimated costs to actual production costs and identify root causes of variances.
• Evaluate impact of changes in material and labor costs on pricing, margins, and profitability.
• Identify waste and inefficiencies to improve manufacturing costs and profitability.
• Prepare detailed cost analyses and management reports summarizing drivers and profitability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate costs and support pricing decisions.
• Maintain documentation and records of cost analyses and recommendations.
• Conduct or assist audits of current and historical projects to validate costs.

What you’ll do:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain accurate system pricing for products, models, and options.
• Analyze product and project costs, including material, labor, and other cost drivers, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Develop and maintain cost estimates for new and existing products, models, options, and projects to support pricing and profitability decisions.
• Compare estimated costs to actual production costs, investigate variances, and identify the root causes of cost changes.
• Evaluate the impact of changes in material and labor costs on product pricing, margins, and overall profitability.
• Identify waste, inefficiencies, and other opportunities to improve manufacturing costs and profitability.
• Prepare detailed cost analysis and management reports that summarize cost drivers, pricing impacts, profitability, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate costs, support pricing decisions, and evaluate the financial impact of products and projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of cost analyses, assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
• Conduct or assist with audits of current and historical projects to validate costs and identify discrepancies or improvement opportunities.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting or Bill of Materials-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles
• Solid cost systems background
