Job summary

PALFINGER in Trenton, NJ is seeking a Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing and finance teams. You will analyze production costs, prepare variance reports, and provide insights to pricing and profitability decisions.

The role focuses on inventory, COGS, close processes, forecasting, and internal controls. Collaborating with operations, purchasing, and engineering, you will maintain BOMs, routings, and cost standards, drive improvements in reporting accuracy, and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
Strong cost accounting knowledge in a manufacturing setting.
Excellent analytical skills and a solid grasp of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

Analyze actual manufacturing costs against standards and provide insights into pricing and profitability.
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities focusing on inventory and COGS with GAAP compliance.
Reconcile inventories and support physical counts, cycle counts, and inventory controls.
Maintain bills of materials, routings, and cost standards; input forecasts for inventory, labor, and overhead.
Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting workflows and ERP data flows.
