Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Cost Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing company in the Bridgewater, NJ area. This onsite role partners with plant operations and finance leadership to analyze costs and provide insights that support strategic business decisions.

The candidate will focus on manufacturing, labor, inventory, and production costs, perform variance analysis, and assist with month-end close and cost forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–6 years of accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, labor, inventory, and production costs.
• Investigate cost variances and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost analysis reports.
• Support month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
• Estimate product costs for existing and new products.
• Monitor production process changes and evaluate financial impact.
• Assist with inventory analysis, standard costing, and cost forecasting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities with operations.
• Participate in audits and support internal controls.
