NorthPoint Search Group seeks a Cost Accountant for a manufacturing operation in Cumming, GA. The role focuses on standard costing, COGS analysis, and ERP reporting to support pricing, budgeting, and inventory control.

You will work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate costing, margin analysis, and timely month-end close, while driving process improvements and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
• Experience recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing variances and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs.
• Partner with sales to provide cost data for pricing and quoting decisions.
• Improve costing processes through cross-functional collaboration.
• Prepare and distribute manufacturing reports including gross margin, yield, and aged inventory.
• Maintain monthly gross margin reporting.
• Prepare month-end journal entries for COGS, E&O, PPV and other manufacturing accounts.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to manufacturing accounts.
• Calculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalization.
• Perform monthly obsolescence analysis with Controller/CFO.
• Analyze COGS accounts monthly.

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant supports financial and operational reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining standard cost systems, analyzing COGS and manufacturing variances, supporting ERP-driven reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
