Vaco Atlanta is partnering with a manufacturing organization in the Atlanta area seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a long-term contract engagement. The role focuses on cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, and month-end close while collaborating closely with operations and cross-functional teams.

Hybrid flexibility is offered. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting, standard costing expertise, and experience with Oracle ERP and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong manufacturing accounting background and standard costing knowledge.
• Experience with inventory accounting and valuation.
• Proficiency with Oracle ERP or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard costing, cost analysis, and review product/manufacturing costs.
• Analyze variances, identify drivers, and propose improvements.
• Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations.
• Manage inventory accounting, valuation, and related analysis.
• Support month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Collaborate with operations to drive cost reductions and process improvements.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

Vaco Atlanta ispartnering with an established and well-respected manufacturing organization in the Atlanta area that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a long-term contract engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cost accounting professional who enjoys working hands-on in a manufacturing environment and is looking to make an immediate impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while partnering closely with operations and other cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities

• Perform standard costing, cost analysis, and ongoing review of product and manufacturing costs
• Analyze manufacturing variances and identify key drivers and opportunities for improvement
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Manage inventory accounting, valuation, and related analysis
• Support the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to manufacturing costs and inventory
• Partner with operations and cross-functional teams on cost reduction, inventory management, and process improvement initiatives
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cost accounting experience
• Strong manufacturing accounting background
• Demonstrated experience with standard costing
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and valuation
• Experience with Oracle ERP or a similar ERP system
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to partner effectively with operations and other business stakeholders
