Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a production crew member to support the corrugated packaging operation at our facility. The role focuses on preparing the machine for each production run, stamping products, and maintaining clean, oiled equipment to ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities include coordinating pallets, assisting with runs, addressing issues with machine or quality promptly, and adhering to ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Willing to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Works as part of the production crew with a main focus on preparing the machine for the production run, according to the customer order.
• Prepares the stencil that stamps the product with identification.
• Cleans and oils the machine daily.
• Orders pallets from the Forklift Driver, according to the need expressed on the schedule.
• Responsible for having pallets at the machine for the finished products
• Assists with running orders when the machine is ready by watching the run continue smoothly and without problem.
• If a problem arises, such as machine failure, product quality is not to standard, or a shortage of paper, this individual notifies the operator of the problem.
• Palletizes the product according to the shop card and/or in a manner suitable for shipping.
• May be required to feed the machine on occasion.
• Responsible for adhering to the ISO procedures and taking direction from the operator.
• Works with various production machines and basic tools such as hammer and knife.
