Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking a corrosion-focused technician to support maintenance and repair of cathodic protection systems across pipelines, compressor stations, and related facilities. This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation to sustain reliable operations.

The successful candidate will perform surveys, coating evaluations, and strength calculations, while reading maps and AS-BUILTs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Level C requires 0–2 years, Level B 2–4 years, Level A 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Must maintain valid driver's license and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, operate, inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems within pipeline segments, compressor stations or plant facilities.
• Perform pipe-to-soil potential surveys and document results.
• Evaluate protective coating condition and perform strength calculations.
• Read and interpret pipeline maps and AS-BUILTs.
• Comply with safety policies and perform LOTO procedures.
• Participate in PHMSA/state regulatory audits.
• Train other technicians and sign off on qualifications.
• Maintain corrosion databases and reports.
• Inspect welds and perform surface pitting checks during repair.
• Travel as required and respond to emergencies.
