Job Description

Corrections Security Officer - Entry Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver's license in the job state. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and represent Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Tues 06:00 PM – 06:00 AM; Fri 06:00 PM – 06:00 AM; Sun 06:00 PM – 06:00 AM.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorization as required, maintain visitor and vehicle records, and report access‑control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs while maintaining a professional presence in a correctional facility environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
