As a CorrectionsSecurity Officer - Entry Controlin Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license in the job state. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and represent Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorization as required, maintain visitor and vehicle records, and report access‑control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs while maintaining a professional presence in a correctional facility environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
