Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Corrections Facility Security Officer - Access Observation in Columbia, SC. You will monitor and patrol government locations, maintain a visible presence, and provide professional customer service while following site procedures.

This role requires a valid driver’s license where the job is located, minimal age requirements, and completion of a background check and drug screen as applicable by law. Training and a employee-focused perks program are available.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, perimeter areas, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related conditions and incidents.
