Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Correctional Security Guard - Full Time in Columbia, SC to protect clients across government facilities. As an unarmed Security Officer at a government location, you will patrol, deter incidents, and provide courteous customer service while enforcing site procedures.

You will monitor access points, document incidents, and respond to alarms in a calm, professional manner. A valid driver's license is required, and the role includes daytime shifts with full-time

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government correctional location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, exit, and movement in accordance with facility procedures.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.


• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
