Job summary

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in recreation and physical education or equivalent experience. Schedule is 40 hours weekly, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM Tue–Sat; telework is not available, and veterans’ preferences apply.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead a wide range of structured and general recreational activities
• Provide coaching, guidance, and explanations of program expectations
• Assess inmate interests and review program effectiveness to suggest improvements
• Maintain reports, statistics, and documentation that meet agency standards
• Supervise the setup, storage, and upkeep of recreational areas and equipment
