• Program Planning: Plan and lead a wide range of structured and general recreational activities
• Instruction Support: Provide coaching, guidance, and explanations of program expectations
• Program Evaluation: Assess inmate interests and review program effectiveness to suggest improvements
• Record Management: Maintain reports, statistics, and documentation that meet agency standards
• Facility Oversight: Supervise the setup, storage, and upkeep of recreational areas and equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $72,210.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
