• Administers unit budget and negotiates food service contracts; procures equipment and supplies.
• Maintains offender records and chairs unit disciplinary and classification committees.
• Acts as liaison with courts, Pardon and Parole Board, and elected officials.
• Submits reports to warden on incidents, food served, leisure activities and significant events.
• Consults with administration and security to resolve emergency or extraordinary correctional problems.
• Plans, develops and implements programs tailored to inmates and negotiates public works contracts.
