Job summary

Arizona State Government’s Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry is seeking a Training Officer I to coordinate and deliver staff training at ASPC-Eyman in Florence. You will apply adult learning principles, oversee training plans, and manage courses in AZ Learns.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and the ability to work in a corrections setting; a Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development or related field.
• Experience in a corrections environment is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Supports staff training and development activities for the assigned Complex.
• Plans and executes training logistics.
• Manages registration, attendance, and AZ Learns course records.
• Implements and reports on instructor and course evaluations.
• Oversees Complex staff instructors and initial training/certifications.
• Evaluates ongoing performance.
• Assists Bureau/ADCRR-wide projects like curriculum development and process improvement.
• Facilitates classes, workshops, and New Employee Orientation as needed.
• Demonstrates best practices in corrections training delivery.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Drives on State business.
