Job summary

Arizona State Government’s Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry is seeking a Training Officer I to coordinate and deliver staff training at ASPC-Eyman in Florence. You will apply adult learning principles, oversee training plans, and manage courses in AZ Learns.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and the ability to work in a corrections setting; a Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are preferred.

Job Summary:

Are you an expert creating and presenting organizational training needs? If so, The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry is looking for you! We are seeking an energetic communicator with strong expertise in adult learning principles to perform as a TRAINING OFFICER I, who coordinates and delivers staff training, and develops programs within an assigned ADCRR Complex. In this position, you will also oversee initiatives such as Annual Training Plan, New Employee Orientation, Core Competency Testing, and Staff surveys.

Job Duties:
  • - Supports employee training, and development activities for the assigned Complex
  • - Plans, and executes logistics

  • - Work experience in an ADCRR Complex, or other State Corrections environment is highly desirable
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test. In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
