Job summary

Navajo County Sheriff's Office seeks a SUD Coordinator to enhance inmate services and coordinate release planning for individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring conditions. The position is grant-funded and focused on pursuing future grant opportunities to maintain funding.

The role involves oversight of data collection, reporting, and collaboration with courts and justice partners to ensure treatment linkage and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and a bachelor’s in behavioral science, health, criminal justice or related field.
• Minimum of two years of progressive experience in a detention or behavioral health setting.
• Must possess a valid AZ driver’s license. An equivalent combination of related work and education may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Prepare departmental reports and oversee contracted services, data collection and reporting.
• Coordinate in-custody SUD treatment program and provide security screenings and release planning.
• Train staff for in-custody treatment programs and advocate for inmates with SUD and co-occurring disorders.
• Collaborate with clinical and justice partners to identify treatment options and service linkages.
• Coordinate with courts and criminal justice partners to meet appointments and release conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and all applicable laws.
