Job summary

Gateway Foundation is seeking Substance Abuse Counselors to provide counseling services in correctional settings, with emphasis on relapse prevention and individualized treatment planning.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a helping field and have or be eligible for relevant licenses. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, adherence to regulatory standards, and flexibility to meet diverse client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a helping profession from an accredited college or university.
• Certification/licensure preferred: CAP/MCAP/LMHC/LCSW/LMFT.
• Must be able to obtain Florida Department of Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews to review substance use disorder and treatment history.
• Evaluate client response to treatment and modify plans accordingly.
• Provide group and individual counseling to support relapse prevention and pro-social skills.
• Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare in collaboration with supervisors.
