Job summary

Gateway Foundation, a national non-profit, is hiring Substance Abuse Counselors to assess clients, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling within a corrections setting in Missouri. The role requires a relevant degree and potential MO credentials, with full-time hours Monday through Friday and one Saturday every three months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field is a plus; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling in a corrections environment is desirable.
• Missouri Credentialing Board (CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP) credentials are a plus.
• Full-time role, Monday–Friday with 1 Saturday every 3 months.
• Must obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups
• Document treatment and discharge plans, clients’ progress and responses to treatment; maintain related records and charts
• Perform case management and contribute to client care monitoring
• Other duties as assigned
