Job summary

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice or related field.
• At least one year supervisory experience in custodial security.
• Substitute education options: associate degree substitutes for six months; bachelor’s substitutes for one year.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall management within security area.
• Supervises staff and provides professional support.
• Ensures adherence to Corrections Policy and Procedures and Institutional Policy and Procedures.
• Ensures coverage for all shifts, areas, and special projects.
• Performs duties to support Deputy Warden of Security in absence.
• Informs staff of policy or operational changes.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Completes evaluations on employees.
• Conducts staff meetings and communicates between staff and managers.
