Job summary
The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Justice & Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Corrections, invites applications for Correctional Lieutenant at the Central Kentucky Medical Correctional Complex in Lexington. Qualifications
- Two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, or related field.
- Associate's degree substitutes six months of required experience.
- Bachelor's degree substitutes one year of required experience.
- Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy substitute for one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and assigns correctional sergeants and officers.
- Plans shift coverage for facility operations.
- Investigates reported occurrences and submits written reports.
- Serves as shift supervisor in absence of the Captain.
- Monitors staff expenditures including overtime and maintenance.
- Responds to emergencies and ensures timely reports.
- Completes investigations and disciplinary reports.
- Ensures timely completion of reports.
- Completes evaluations on employees.
