Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville seeks a Department of Corrections (DOC) Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a secure setting under nursing leadership. You will collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure excellent outcomes and adherence to nursing models.

The role involves assessing patients, administering medications, educating families, and documenting care. Night shifts are 12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (Associates Degree required).
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• At least 6 months RN work experience required.
• Prior Acute Care/Hospital Medical/Surgical RN experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, reporting changes promptly.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses, documenting care in the medical record.
• Provide responsive care, address patient requests, and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans.
