Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, at least 20 and not yet 46 years old.
• Must pass Civil Service Written Examination, physical agility test, psychological exam, oral board interview, and background checks.
• Waiver may be granted for degrees in police/fire/criminal justice, criminology, forensic science, fire prevention, accounting, public administration or business administration.

Responsabilités

• Conduct inmate counts and safety inspections.
• Assist court security to prepare inmates for transport.
• Supervise inmate feeding.
• Monitor all facility activities and control access.
• Inspect locks, bars, gates, mail and visitors for prohibitive items.
• Supervise inmates in living quarters and segregated areas.
• Keep inmates informed of charges and rules.
• Assist in searching for fugitives and return them to the institution.
• Perform related duties as required.
