Job summary

State of Washington seeks a Corrections Mental Health Counselor 3 for Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA. The role involves providing comprehensive mental health services to incarcerated individuals onsite, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment planning under clinical supervision.

Expect documentation, assessments, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• CAAC credential required or able to apply within 30 days of hire.
• DOH licensure eligibility required; higher DOH licenses considered.
• Must have a related Bachelor's or Master’s/Doctorate in counseling or social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health counseling to incarcerated individuals with clinical supervision.
• Perform individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health assessments.
• Document and develop Treatment Plans with supervision.
• Coordinate transitions and release needs with reentry staff and outside agencies.
• Complete required MH reports and safety/crisis documentation as per policy.
• Engage in supervision meetings and participate in multidisciplinary teams.
