Job summary

The Washington State Department of Corrections seeks a Psychology Associate at the Monroe Correctional Complex, located just northeast of the Seattle area. The role serves as a Primary Therapist, delivering diagnostic assessment, treatment, and crisis services to incarcerated individuals with mental health needs, under supervision of a licensed psychologist.

Onsite, Mon-Fri 07:00-15:30, with clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development and involvement in quality

Qualifications

• Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) required.
• Must apply for LAAC license within 30 days of hire.
• Doctoral degree in psychology or Master's with 2 years post-master supervision preferred.
• Official WA licensure as Mental Health Clinician advantageous.
• Experience providing individual and group therapies.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments and provide evidence-based treatment to incarcerated individuals.
• Provide crisis intervention and ensure post-crisis follow-up for stability.
• Supervise and coordinate with staff; monitor performance and documentation.
• Coordinate transition and release needs with appropriate mental health services.
• Participate in trainings, MDTs, and quality improvement projects.
