Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Mailroom Supervisor to manage all inbound and outbound mail operations within an institutional setting. You will coordinate between the USPS and the facility, oversee mail reception and distribution, and ensure compliance with USPS regulations and internal policies.

The role requires a high school diploma with postal/delivery experience and at least one year of supervisory experience, with a potential substitution of a higher degree for required

Qualifications

• High school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
• One year of supervisory experience required; three years total experience in postal, courier or delivery operations may be substituted by an associate degree or higher with one year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities between the USPS and the institution.
• Deliver and pick up all mail.
• Receive USPS and UPS packages and coordinate delivery to the institutional property officer.
• Supervise inspection of all mail for contraband.
• Maintain and interpret policies and regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
• Maintain records of money instruments received and/or returned.
• Coordinate activities of E.H. Cooper trust fund.
• Research records for inmate locations to handle mail properly.
• Direct and supervise receiving and distribution of USPS and department mail.
• Direct and supervise incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
• Plan and schedule work assignments and employee training.
