Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse program and current Texas LVN license.
• No experience required.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care.
• Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Reviews and, under supervision, may modify the plan of care.
• Observes and records signs, symptoms, and patient status; proposes revision of interventions and outcomes.
• Delivers designated nursing interventions per the plan of care.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in patient status; coordinates with treatment plans.
• Follows physician's orders in delivering care.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Executes physician orders for assigned patients.
• Assembles equipment and supplies for procedures and assists others.
• Adheres to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Documents nursing care in patient records.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures.
• Performs related duties as required.
