Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health)–East Texas Treatment in Henderson, TX–seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care within the prison healthcare setting. You will follow physician orders, document patient status, and ensure infection control while working with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires LVN licensure in Texas, a high school diploma or equivalent, and current BLS-HP certification.

Qualifications

• Direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Adhere to physician orders and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Review and modify the care plan under supervision.
• Observe and document patient signs, symptoms, and status.
• Deliver designated nursing interventions per plan of care.
• Notify staff of changes in patient status and coordinate with team.
• Safely administer medications and treatments.
