Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care within a correctional health setting. The role covers assessment, planning, and execution of the nursing plan, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The LVN will follow physician orders, administer medications, and document care while ensuring patient privacy. No prior experience is required; recent grads with temporary permits are welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
• No experience required.
• Current BLS-HP required.
• Will consider recent graduates with temporary permits.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given.
• Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Follows physician's orders and delivers medications as prescribed.
• Documents nursing care in patient records with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
