Job summary

Staff Today Inc. seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Capron, VA to provide direct patient care in a correctional healthcare setting. The role requires an active VA LPN license and at least 1 year of recent LPN experience.

Qualifications

• Current, valid VA LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1+ year of LPN experience within the last 3 years.

• Copy of required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, immunizations, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes.
• Assist with assessments and care plans.
• Document care in EMR accurately.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and treatment plans.

Shift Details: Day shift- 7:00am – 7:30pm

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as a LPN.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,).
