Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates in a Fulton, AL kitchen, ensuring meals align with production plans and safety standards. You will train workers, coordinate duties, and maintain sanitation while upholding security protocols within a correctional environment.

The role requires supervising activities, ensuring portions meet dietary requirements, and managing logs and inventories.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members in a correctional setting.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines per Aramark standards by reviewing and approving production and temperature logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in using Aramark recipes and train on proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and accommodate special dietary requirements.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Follow security policies; keep storage areas locked.
• Return and secure all kitchen tools and equipment and keys.
• Determine work procedures and schedules; ensure sanitation schedules are followed.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storage of food; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in 5 P’s process for meals and storage.
• Follow HACCP policies for proper handling and storage.
