The role involves daily interaction with law enforcement personnel and inmates, including inmate trustees. A background investigation is required for jail clearance and confidentiality within a secured facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in managing receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, inventories, and stock records.
• Experience in a guarded facility (e.g., jail, school, hospital) is preferred and experience with computerized inventory systems (e.g., LUCITY).
• A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manages storeroom operations.
• Orders, receives, unpacks, and stores goods and supplies.
• May input an online purchasing request for supplies and services.
• May coordinate activities with Purchasing.
• Checks incoming materials against invoices or purchase orders and files requisitions.
• Inspects goods received for conformance to quantity and quality specifications.
• May process invoices for payment.
• Maintains inventory and stock records and controls; inputs inventory data into computer.
• Estimates stock needs and inventory levels.
• Devises and maintains safeguards against loss, deterioration, and damage to goods.
• Reports any loss or misuse of materials and supplies to supervisor.
• May coordinate machine repair calls.
• Records inventory transactions to various accounting modules; establishes reorder points based on usage.
• Prepares periodic and special reports.
• May be assigned to other county locations based upon operational needs.
• Attends work regularly and adheres to ordinances; responds to emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
