Job summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Technician I at Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The technician participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison. This role requires CMA/EMT/CNA certification and at least two years of healthcare experience, with full on-site work arrangements and a focus on serving the inmate population. Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required.
• At least two years of healthcare experience demonstrating competencies to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight and documents in EMR.
• Assists physician/AP with procedures and prepares inmate for examinations.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including blood draws.
• Assists with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment in the Health Service Unit.
• Maintains supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering supplies in a timely manner.
• Aggregates medication orders and forwards to the pharmacy provider.
