Job summary

Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Food Services Coordinator at Coffee Creek FCF (Wilsonville). You will manage daily food operations, lead adults in custody in food service work programs, and ensure meals meet safety and nutritional standards.

The role emphasizes supervising crews, coordinating food preparation, and enforcing security protocols in a correctional kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or higher AND 1 year of experience in a commercial food service facility, full-service restaurant, or other food preparing establishment.
• Associate degree in Food Service Management, Foods and Hospitality Service, or directly‑related field.
• Must obtain a Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of hire. Temporary appointments do not have to meet the minimum qualifications and are not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise adults in custody (AIC) work crews; enforce rules, procedures, security; provide training and evaluate performance; maintain discipline and cleanliness; conduct searches for contraband; monitor timecards and work area conditions.
• Lead AICs in preparing and cooking meals per menus and recipes; operate kitchen equipment; ensure proper portioning and quality; assist with special diets and menu changes; plan cooking schedules and minimize food waste.
• Oversee kitchen sanitation and hygiene; ensure proper food storage and equipment sanitation; manage dishwashing temperatures and supply rotation.
• Perform inventory checks; request supplies; verify deliveries; assist with food ordering; direct unloading and storage of supplies.
• Maintain records on food prepared and served, leftover quantities, inventory, and AIC work hours.
