The role helps maintain safe, efficient, and consistent workflow within the institution. As a Corrections Equipment Operator, you will perform the following duties:

• Vehicle Operation: Operate tractor-trailers, trucks, and other vehicles for freight transport
• Basic Maintenance: Perform routine checks and minor repairs to ensure equipment readiness
• Documentation Tasks: Complete and submit logs, receipts, and reports according to policy
• Inmate Oversight: Train, guide, and monitor inmate workers during loading, unloading, and repair tasks
• Safety Procedures: Maintain secure work areas by issuing tools, tracking materials, and searching work zones

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• Two years of experience in the operation of tractor-trailer trucks; or
• A combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A Commercial Driver's License.
