Job summary

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Newport is seeking a Corrections Deputy to maintain safety and security of the jail, the county courthouse, and occupants. You will follow all policies, procedures, and Oregon jail standards.

Minimum education is a High School Diploma or GED, with two years of college in law enforcement preferred. Must obtain DPSST certification, CPR/First Aid, LEDS/NCIC within one year, and hold an Oregon driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years college level education in law enforcement or related field preferred.
• Must be 21+ and reside within two hours of Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Must meet DPSST certification requirements and obtain CPR/First Aid within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Intake processing of inmates, including custody assessments and initial searches.
• Conduct weapon and contraband checks and manage inmate property and biographical information.
• Operate jail data entry and security systems; monitor alarms and control room equipment.
• Provide custody, safety, and welfare checks; respond to emergencies and transport inmates as needed.
• Assist public, media, and agencies; maintain records and prepare reports.
