Job summary

Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform correctional duties, enforce laws, and conduct investigations. The role may include providing resident deputy services, patrols in diverse terrains, and prisoner transport.

Requires a high school diploma, Oregon driver’s license, and either current corrections/peace officer certification or eligibility to apply. Applicants will undergo a multi-stage selection process including tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Two years of experience dealing with the public.
• Possession of a current Oregon driver’s license.
• Possession of a basic certification in corrections and as a peace officer with the State of Oregon at the time of appointment or ability to apply for such certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform correctional work in care, custody, and transportation of inmates.
• Enforce laws and ordinances; investigate complaints and conduct investigations.
• Provide law enforcement services as a resident deputy in a patrol district if required.
• Proceed with duties across patrol of urban, suburban, and rural areas and support court security and prisoner transport.
