Job summary

Department of Corrections in Concord, NH seeks a Corrections Counselor / Case Manager to provide counseling and case management for inmates, supporting transition planning and rehabilitation within the facility.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent education; must possess a valid driver's license and pass security screenings.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Valid driver's license
• Must pass security and background screenings required for correctional environments.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the facility unit team that monitors inmates to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Models, reinforces, redirects, and sets limits to behavior by using specified behavior management techniques.
• Conducts individualized and group orientation to inmates within the correctional system and provides programming to inmates associated with their identified risk factors.
• Observes inmates and collaborates with other staff and community agencies to help develop services for resident needs.
• Schedules inmates for specialized appointments, boards, and activities within the prison system.
• Coordinates with professional staff to ensure treatment for those inmates needing specialized services.
• Prepares reports and case summaries for appropriate classification and ongoing treatment and rehabilitation of inmates.
